Tseycum is very happy to involve community members in the planning of upcoming projects
and events. We are very proud and honored to help our members build on education, training,
experience and therefore self-confidence as they move up and on in the workforce.

There are members that have taken
Stream & Shorekeeper training to help repair and enhance
streams and beaches surrounding our village. This done in hopes to see fish and wildlife return
to Patricia Bay as well as TenTen and Wsikem Creeks where our members historically
harvested their food. Currently three of our members are at the Institute of Ocean Sciences in
Coast Guard training, which consists of three components, once this is complete they will
decide which phase they are interested in and hopefully have a great experience of working
with the Coast Guard. Another very exciting project our
Tseycum CanoeTours. We have three
Tour Canoes, which are being carved and then transported to the Port of Sidney Marina where
our members will be guiding tours out to the surrounding Island Parks explaining where native
people once lived, hunted and fished. Tourists and interested parties will also learn the
Sencoten names of these places and the islands where they are located. Tseycum offers a variety
of programs to the community, such as,
Elder's Program, Satellite Program, Headstart Program,
After School Program and also a Summer Employment Program.
